Warminster man gets house arrest for child porn
Wednesday, August 24, 2011
A Warminster man who downloaded child pornography from the Internet for four years was sentenced on Tuesday to six to 23 months of house arrest.
He pleaded guilty in April to charges of possessing child pornography and criminal use of a communications device.
He was arrested in July following an undercover investigation. Officers from New Britain Township and the Pennsylvania State Police tracked activity on websites frequented by child porn collectors to his computer.
Officers found that he was viewing videos of children being sexually abused, and sharing them with others online, said prosecutor Steven Jones.
His home was searched, and officers found 33 video files. He also admitted to police that he burned some of the images onto a video disk, and that he had been viewing child porn for four years.
His attorney, Richard Fink, told the judge that his client has been seeing a therapist since his arrest. He called psychologist Kenneth Singer as an expert witness Tuesday. Singer said that there was a "very low risk" that he would re-offend.

Construction company president, CFO charged with theft

The president of a Chalfont construction company along with its chief financial officer have been charged with stealing more than $650,000 from the business over a seven-year period, according to court records.
He was released after posting $5,100 bail. His attorney, Richard Fink, called the case, "a lawsuit gone wild."
Fink was referring to a suit filed alleging his client stole more than $579,000 and the accountants never reported it to the owner.
The lawsuit claims he used the money to buy his wife a horse trailer, spa and wave runner, cars, insurance and make mortgage payments.
